Greece (Peloponnese)

Where history whispers, nature thrives, and every corner holds a story.

Greece holds a special place in our hearts, and we consider it one of our favourite European destinations. The country shares borders with Albania, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria to the north, and Turkey to the east. The climate is exceptional, the people are incredibly welcoming, and the cost of living is remarkably affordable for Europe. With a reasonable budget, you can enjoy a comfortable and safe life here.

The Peloponnese Peninsula is a particularly appealing region. It's the most popular area on the Greek mainland for tourism and is conveniently located just 80 kilometres from Athens. Situated in the southern part of the country, it boasts some of Greece's most significant archaeological sites, including Olympia, Epidaurus, and Mycenae. Surrounded by the sea, the region offers stunning beaches, historic castles, and even ski centres.

Nafplio, the former capital of Greece, is a charming seaside town with a population of around 15,000. It's less than a two-hour drive from Athens and is renowned for its picturesque old town, featuring narrow alleyways and a delightful seafront promenade lined with restaurants, taverns, clubs, and cafes. The town is dominated by the impressive Palamidi fortress, offering breathtaking views of the Argolic Gulf. Nafplio's pleasant climate, rich history, and scenic beauty make it a top choice for retirees in Greece.

Kalamata, the second-largest city in the Peloponnese, is known for its famous olives and boasts sun-drenched beaches, majestic mountains, and charming Greek villages nearby. It also has an international airport that operates during the summer months.

Property prices in the Peloponnese have been on the rise in recent years. The region's mild climate and natural beauty make it an idyllic place to live. The area also attracts international investors due to the opportunity to obtain a five-year Golden Visa by purchasing a property over €400,000, the most affordable threshold in Europe. This visa allows the owner and their family to reside in Greece for up to five years without a minimum stay requirement. After seven years of residency, one can apply for citizenship.

We have partnered with a reputable real estate agency that has been operating in the coastal areas of the Peloponnese since 2005. They have offices in four locations, including Nafplio and Kalamata. We have personally visited their Nafplio office and met with one of their senior agents. We also maintain communication with the firm's principal. They are well-equipped to cater to all your real estate needs, and we have additional professionals available to handle legal matters, bank account openings, Golden Visa applications, and tax file number applications.
